Richmond happy hour has a house style: a $5–$6 pour on Cary Street, then a $7–$10 plate — or $1 oysters on the river. These are the signature sips and bites the venues themselves print on their own pages, with prices only where the bar published them.

Burtons Grill & Bar (Carytown Exchange, 3520 West Cary Street) posts Monday–Friday 3pm–6pm, served only at the bar, with $2 off draft beer and wine by the glass, $6 mixed drinks (vodka, gin, tequila, whiskey, scotch, rum), and $10 Burtons specialty cocktails. The Daily Kitchen & Bar Carytown (2934 West Cary Street) posts Monday–Friday 3pm–6pm at the bar and patio: house red or white $6, select draft beer $5 (Michelob Ultra, Miller Lite, Stella Artois), and specialty cocktails $8 (Hugo spritz, Aperol spritz, blackberry basil margarita, passionfruit mojito). Julep's New Southern Cuisine (420 East Grace Street, downtown) posts Happy Hour Tuesday–Friday 4:30pm–7pm with beverages at $5 each: 12oz draft beer, house liquor mixed drinks, Four Roses mint juleps, and select red, white, or rose wine. The Tobacco Company (1201 East Cary Street, Shockoe Slip) posts Social Hour Sunday–Friday 4pm–6:30pm, first floor only, with draft beer $5, 50% off wines by the glass, and rails $3.50. The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing (4708 East Old Main Street, on the James River) posts Happy Every Hour at the bar weekdays 4pm–6pm with $1 off draft beers, $2 off wines by the glass, $3 off select cocktails — plus oysters on the half shell at $1 each.
Bites worth crossing the street for
Burtons keeps every bite at one number: bar bites at $7 each include bang bang broccoli, General Tso chicken skewers, steak skewers, bourbon shrimp, and chips and guac. The Daily runs $6.95 truffle parmesan fries and $7.95 artichoke and spinach dip up to $9.95 guacamole, brussels sprouts, and margherita pizza and $12.95 hot honey flatbread. Julep's snacks run $5–$7: Southern frites $5, truffled deviled eggs $6, duck vol-au-vent $6, steak tartare $6, and crab hushpuppies $7. The Tobacco Company pairs its Social Hour with a $15 handheld special (Company Burger or prime rib sandwich with fries) and a $10 small plate special (fried calamari, meatballs al forno, fried green tomatoes, blue crab croquettes, coconut shrimp). The Boathouse answers with $7 starters and snacks and $12 appetizers.

How to run it
Start on Cary Street at 3 — Burtons for the $6 mixed drinks and $7 bites, the Daily for the $8 spritzes. Ride downhill to Shockoe Slip for the Tobacco Company's 4–6:30 Social Hour, or to Rocketts Landing for $1 oysters 4–6.
